【摘要】:Connectionsareoneoftheweakestlinksinwoodconstruction.Whilethestrengthofmetalboltsandofwoodorwood-basedproductsareascertainable,afullevaluationoftheperformanceofthecombinationisonlypossiblethroughthetestingofacompleteconnection.Suchvariablesasmemberthickness,memberwidth,endandedgedistances,typeofbolt,fabricationtolerances,moisturecontentofthewoodorwood-basedproduct,preservativeorfire-retardanttreatmentofthewoodorwood-basedproduct,andspeciesofwoodmayaffectconnectionbehavior.Inordertodevelopdesigncriteriaforestablishedbolttypesaswellasthoseunderdevelopment,theeffectofthesevariablesonconnectionstrengthandstiffnessmustbeknown.Thetestsdescribedhereinpermittheobservationofdataonthestrengthandstiffnessofwoodorwood-basedconnections,orboth,undertheinfluenceofanyorallofthesefactors.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforevaluatingthestrengthandstiffnessofsingle-boltedconnectionsinwoodorwood-basedproductswhensubjectedtostaticloading.Thesetestmethodsserveasabasisfordeterminingtheeffectsofvariousfactorsonthestrengthandstiffnessoftheconnection.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIunitsinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
