【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoverstheuseofgaschromatographytodeterminetheamountofdieselfuelinusedenginelubricatingoil.ThistestislimitedtoSAE30oil.Thedieselfueldiluentisanalyzedatconventrationsupto12mass%.Note1-Thistestmethodmaybeapplicabletohigherviscositygradeoils.However,suchoilswerenotincludedintheprogramusedtodeveloptheprecisionstatement.Thistestmethodislimitedtogaschromatographsequippedwithflameionizationdetectorsandtemperatureprogrammableovens.Note2-Theuseofotherdetectorsandinstrumentationhasbeenreported.However,theprecisionstatementappliesonlywhentheinstrumentationspecifiedisemployed.ThereissomeoverlapoftheboilingrangesofdieselfuelandSAE30engineoils.Moreover,theboilingrangeofSAE30oilsfromvarioussourcescanvaryappreciably.Asaresult,thecalibrationcanbealteredbyasmuchas2%,intermsoffueldilution.Whentestingunknownormixedbrandsofusedengineoil,itshouldberealizedthattheprecisionofthemethodmaybepoorerthantheprecisionobtainedwhencalibratingwithanewoilrepresentativeoftheusedoilbeingtested.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
