【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesastandardprocedureforobtainingthewater-solublematerials(includingtannins)fromanymaterialthatcanbepreparedforandchargedtothesteam-jacketedextractor.TheextractionsolutionsarethenanalyzedaccordingtoTestMethodsD4903,D6401,andD6402.1.1Thispracticecoversextractingthetanninfromrawandspentmaterials.Thewaterextractobtainedbythismethodisusedtodeterminethetannincontentoftheoriginalmaterial.Analysisfortotalsolids,solublesolids,andsolublenon-tanninsofthewaterextractfromamaterialprovidestheinformationnecessarytocalculatetheextractabletannincontentofthatmaterial.Thetypesofmaterialstypicallyanalyzedbythispracticeareproductsofplantssuchaswoods,barks,leaves,nuts,fruits,roots,etc.andanyofawidevarietyofby-products(spentmaterials)fromindustrialprocessesutilizingplantproducts.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
