【摘要】:Thispracticecanbeusedtoevaluatetheperformanceofdifferentfuseroilsinaspecificmodelcopierorprinter.Thispracticecanbeusedtoevaluateasubjectfuseroilincomparisontoanacceptablecontrolfuseroil.Thispracticecanbeusedtoestimatetheconsumptionofaspecificfuseroilinacopierorprinter.Thispracticecanbeusedwithrecirculatingsystemstomonitorthechangeinvolatilemattercontentasthetestprogresses.Anexcessiveincreaseinvolatilemattercontentcanindicatebreakdownofthefuseroilduetothecombinedeffectoftheheatofthefuserunitandthecatalyticactionofcontaminantsintroducedbytoner,paper,andothermaterialsencounteredinthemachine.Theproductionofexcessiveamountsofvolatilematerialsmaydamagedelicateelectricalcomponentswithinsomecopyingmachines.Thispracticecanbeusedwithrecirculatingsystemstomonitorthechangeinviscosityasthetestprogresses.Anexcessiveincreaseintheviscosityofafuseroilcanindicatethatitisbeginningtoformagelduetotheeffectofoxygen,contaminants,andhightemperaturesencounteredinthemachine.Thispracticecanbeusedwithrecirculatingsystemstomonitorthechangeinsurfacetensionasthetestprogresses.Anincreaseinsurfacetensionindicateslossofthereleasepropertiesofthefuseroilandmayleadtoprintoffsettingandotheradverseeffects.Thispracticecanbeusedtoevaluatetherateoffuseroil-relatedbuilduponthefuserroll.Arubberymaterialthatconsistsofgelledfuseroil,paperdust,toner,andothercontaminantsmaybuilduponthefuserrollasthefuseroildegrades.Inspectionofthefuserrollatspecificintervalsprovidesaqualitativeevaluationofthiseffect.Thispracticecanbeusedtodeterminechangesinmeasuredprintquality,odoremission,paperjamrate,paperwraprate,papercrinklerate,andfuserrollerlifeduringthetest.Thispracticeisasingleestimatesubjecttoasignificantnumberofvariablesthatarenotmeasuredeasily.Consequently,arepeatednumberoftestsonmorethanonemachinewillyieldmorereliableconclusions.Thispracticemaybeusedwithrecirculatingsystemstoestablishlimitsforacceptablechangeinphysicalpropertiesbasedondatacorrelations.Suchlimitsmayprovidemoreefficientevaluationofsamplefuseroilsandpreventdamagetothecopyingmachinebyavoidingtheneedtotesttofailure.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforestimatingtheperformanceoffuseroilinanelectrostaticcopierorprinter.1.2Thispracticedescribesaprocedurefordeterminingfuseroil-relatedchangesintheprintqualitymeasuredduringtestingatspecificintervals.1.3Propertiesevaluatedforallsystemsincludeodoremission,paperjamrate,paperwraprate,papercrinklerate,andfuserrollerlife.1.4Propertiesevaluatedforrecirculatingsystemsincludechangesinviscosity,volatilemattercontent,andsurfacetension.1.5Thispracticedescribesaprocedureforcomparingtheperformanceofasubjectfuseroilwiththatofacontrolfuseroil.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecificprecautionarystatement,see8.3.1.
