【摘要】:1.1Thispracticedescribesmethodsforevaluatingtheshearcapacityofatypicalsectionofaframedwall,supportedonarigidfoundationandhavingloadappliedintheplaneofthewallalongtheedgeoppositetherigidsupportandinadirectionparalleltoit.Theobjectiveistoprovideadeterminationoftheshearstiffnessandstrengthofanystructurallight-framewallconfigurationtobeusedasashear-wallonarigidsupport.1.2LimitationsThispracticeisnotintendedtobeusedasabasisforclassifyingsheathingshearcapacityorasanevaluationofcombinedflexureandshearresultingfromthewallbeingloadedonaflexiblefoundation.1.2.1Theeffectofsheathingvariationsisassessedbyholdingallothervariablesconstant.Permittedvariationsinframingconfigurationandboundaryconditions,however,requireaccuratedocumentationofthetestsetuptovalidateacross-studycomparisonsofsheathingcontributiontowallshearcapacity.Awalltestedonaflexiblefoundationisevaluatedbycomparingshearstiffnessandstrengthresultstothoseofanidenticalwalltestedonarigidfoundation,followingthispractice.However,nomethodsaregivenforthemeasurementofwallbendingdisplacementsorassessmentofstressdistributionresultingfromfoundationflexure.Anyextrapolationofwallrackingbehaviorfromthefoundationconditionsspecifiedbythispracticetoflexibleconditionsshallbedonewiththesupportofacomparativetestonarepresentativefoundation.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
